Nexus Open Research is an international open-access multidisciplinary journal dedicated to accelerating the dissemination of rigorous and transparent research across the biomedical and clinical sciences. The journal aims to support rapid scientific communication while promoting reproducibility, openness, and constructive scientific dialogue.
Nexus Open Research publishes high-quality research spanning the major research disciplines, including:
- Physical Sciences (e.g., physics, astronomy, chemistry, mathematics, and materials science).
- Life Sciences (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and biochemistry).
- Health Sciences (e.g., clinical medicine, public health, epidemiology, pharmacology, and dentistry).
- Engineering and Technology (e.g., computer science, artificial intelligence, robotics, and mechanical engineering).
- Social Sciences (e.g., economics, sociology, political science, education, and psychology).
- Humanities (e.g., history, philosophy, linguistics, and literature).
The journal welcomes rigorous research regardless of perceived novelty or expected impact. Confirmatory studies, negative results, replication studies, and methodological advances are encouraged, as they play an essential role in strengthening the reliability of the scientific record.
By supporting open science principles, the journal promotes transparency in research methods, data availability, and collaborative scientific evaluation.
Nexus Open Research accepts a variety of research outputs to reflect the diversity of modern scientific communication, including:
- Original Research Articles
- Clinical Studies
- Systematic Reviews
- Meta-Analyses
- Study Protocols
- Methods Articles
- Case Reports
- Opinion and Perspective Articles
Nexus Open Research adopts a transparent and rapid publishing model designed to accelerate the dissemination of research while maintaining scientific rigor:
- Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to ensure compliance with ethical standards, reporting guidelines, and basic scientific quality.
- Once the manuscript passes the initial editorial checks, it is published online as Version 1 of the article, making the research immediately accessible.
- Expert reviewers are invited to evaluate the article after publication. Reviewer identities and reports are published alongside the article to promote transparency and accountability.
- Authors may revise their manuscript in response to reviewer comments. Updated versions are published with clear version tracking.
Authors are required to provide statements on ethics approval, informed consent when applicable, competing interests, and data availability.
The journal strongly supports open science practices, including:
- Sharing underlying datasets in trusted repositories
- Providing analytical code when applicable
- Using reporting guidelines such as CONSORT, PRISMA, or STROBE
- Transparent peer review and versioning
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) open-access license, enabling broad dissemination, reuse, and adaptation of research outputs with proper credit to the authors.
The mission of Nexus Open Research is to improve the speed, transparency, and reliability of biomedical research communication by providing an open and collaborative publishing platform for researchers worldwide.
